It's best to use Motorcraft SAE 5W-20 motor oil in your 2006 Ford Fusion, or a similar oil that meets Ford's WSS-M2C930-A specification. The amount of oil needed depends on the engine: the 2.3L I4 engine requires 4.5 quarts, while the 3.0L DOHC V6 Duratec engine needs 6 quarts. Remember to frequently check the oil level using the dipstick, and top up if it drops below the normal range. It's recommended to get an oil change every 6,000 miles or at least once a year. Be sure to replace the oil filter and the filter cap O-ring as well. The 2.3L engine requires a FL-2017-B oil filter, while the 3.0L engine uses a FL-820-S.
