The BMW 525i 2007 uses SAE 5W-30 Pento High Performance oil for an oil change. To begin changing the oil, ensure the car has been turned off and parked for a while to allow the engine to cool down. Locate the oil pan under the car's engine and the drain plug beneath it. Position a bucket underneath the plug and remove it to let the old oil drain out completely, which may take about an hour. Once it has stopped dripping, reattach the drain plug and find the oil intake port on the top of the oil pan. Use a funnel to fill the oil pan to the full mark, avoiding overfilling to prevent leaks and oil burn off. After filling up, close the port securely, clean up any spilled oil, and your oil change is complete.
