The BMW E30 comes with a 4 lug X 100mm wheel bolt pattern. This means that there are four wheel studs that are 100mm apart, measured from the center of one stud to the center of the one opposite it. The studs on the E30 are 70mm long and have M12 X 1.5 threads, while the lug nuts have a 17mm hex head size. To properly tighten the lug nuts, it's recommended to work in a crisscross pattern. Imagine the lug nuts are numbered: start by tightening #1, then move to #2, #3, and finally #4. Repeat this sequence until all lugs are torqued to 80 ft-lbs.
