The original speakers in a 2003 Chevy Suburban are 6-¾ in both the front and rear doors. Additionally, most audio packages come with a pair of 1 tweeters installed in the corners of the dashboard on the A pillars. To swap out the factory speakers, you'll have to take off the front and rear door panels to reach the mounting spots. Many folks opt to switch the stock 6-¾ speakers with 6-½ ones since they're more widely available and come at various prices. To do so, you'll need adapters that allow the smaller speaker to fit in the bigger factory slot. These adapters are cheap and simple to use, making them the preferred choice for most people when upgrading their speakers.
