The 2016 Honda Pilot is equipped with lug nuts that are 22mm in size. These lug nuts are fasteners with one end that is rounded or conical, and they are typically used on steel and most aluminum wheels. A set of lug nuts is commonly used to secure a wheel onto threaded wheel studs, which then connect to a vehicle's axles. It is crucial to properly torque the lug nuts when putting the wheels back on a vehicle after maintenance. Incorrectly tightened lug nuts can cause damage to wheels, impact rotor runout, and present a serious safety hazard if the wheel detaches or studs break. Avoid applying oil or any lubricant to the wheel bolts, nuts, or studs, as this can promote slippage and potentially lead to wheels coming loose. It's normal to see rust on these surfaces, but it doesn't pose a problem as it's only superficial.
The 2016 and newer Honda Pilot requires a 22mm lug nut.
