The Ford Fusion Hybrid comes equipped with yellow 50/50 dex cool antifreeze or coolant that is already mixed with water. This type of coolant safeguards the engine from potential damage that could result from using undiluted fluid. It is available for purchase in containers ranging from one quart to one gallon, with prices varying between $4 and $30 each. Opting to have a professional mechanic or automotive service technician replace the coolant will incur an extra labor cost of $40 to $98.

    Where should it be placed?

All the previous responses are completely incorrect. It is crucial that you never use "Dex-Cool" under any circumstances. "Dex-Cool" is only suitable for systems that need Orange coolant. For hybrid systems, you should use Ford Yellow Coolant. Avoid using "Any Color" antifreeze, even if it is labeled on certain store brand or Prestone Coolant containers. Orange Coolant is OAT formulated with 2EHA, while Yellow coolant is ethylene glycol-based. It is critical to never mix the two types. Additionally, refrain from using "Golden" colored coolant. Do not introduce plain water to the hybrid system, as it can lead to mineral clogging. Flush the system with distilled water and refill it only with distilled water, as these systems are sensitive to mineral buildup.
