The Auto LSD, or Limited Slip Differential, on a RAV4 is designed for use in extremely slippery conditions, such as off-road driving. It should not be activated when the wheels are already moving or during regular driving. If the LSD light flashes on your dashboard, it indicates that the system is working to prevent wheel slippage. Should the brakes overheat while using Auto LSD, the system will turn off automatically but will reactivate after a brief period. Additionally, the Auto LSD will deactivate when the engine is turned off and will stay off when the vehicle is restarted.
How can I make this stop?
What actions should I take if the Auto LSD light remains illuminated continuously?
In the Toyota RAV4, "Auto LSD" is short for "Limited-Slip Differential," a traction control feature designed to enhance safety on slippery terrains.
Is it okay to drive?
To the left of your steering wheel, there's a traction control button. People frequently press it by mistake, which makes the LSD light come on.
