The Chevy Silverado showing error code p06dd is indicating a fault in the engine oil pressure control circuit, causing high oil pressures exceeding 95 psi. This issue is common in Chevy Silverado models from 2014 to 2016 and may be due to low oil levels, an incorrect oil filter, a faulty engine oil pressure sensor, or a damaged oil pump face. The primary cause is often the tensioner spring in the timing chain guide being too short, leading to issues with the oil pump's performance. If you encounter this problem, it is recommended to visit the dealership for a solution. They will replace the insufficient spring and check the oil pump bearings for any damage caused by debris.

The error code p06dd in a vehicle indicates a possible issue with low or no oil pressure. This could be due to the oil control valve becoming stuck in the off position, causing high oil pressures (95 psi) that could potentially harm the oil pump.

Can you tell me what the codes were for the check engine light?

I'm experiencing the same issue with my 2022 Chevrolet Suburban Diesel. I purchased the vehicle at the end of March 2022. The first time I received this code was around 4000 miles. I took it to the dealership, and they diagnosed it as a computer problem, updating it as recommended by the technician. They also advised me to do an oil change every 3000 miles, which is different from my usual practice of changing synthetic oil every 5000 miles. Even the sticker on the vehicle suggests an oil change every 7000 miles. Now, with 9673 miles on the odometer, I'm facing the same code again. It's frustrating to deal with these issues on a brand-new, expensive vehicle. Any suggestions on what steps to take next?

I'm facing a similar problem with my 2018 Silverado right now. I purchased the truck 6 months back, and after just 2 days, the error code po6dd showed up on my diagnostic tool. I took it to the dealership, and they claimed it was an old code they forgot to clear. But the next day, the same code appeared again. I returned the truck, and they replaced the oil pump. Everything seemed fine until about 2 days ago when the same code resurfaced once more.

Poor quality oil and exceeding 5000 kilometers can trigger trouble code P06DD.

We purchased a 2022 pickup truck with a 6.2-liter engine. The check engine light has appeared twice, and the vehicle has 11,000 miles. The dealership is hesitant to replace the oil sensor. Our gas mileage has drastically dropped from 24.9 to 3.5 mpg. I want to know if there's a way to hold Chevrolet accountable for this poor gas mileage. If we hadn't paid in cash, I would have considered letting them repossess it. Can someone offer advice on how to proceed?

Begin by inspecting the oil pressure sensor, a reasonably priced part at around $30-40 that is simple to swap out. Next, examine the PCV valve for any issues, as it is also inexpensive to replace. If the problem persists after changing the oil and filter, it may be due to a faulty oil pump and solenoid. If these components are not covered by warranty, the repair costs can be substantial. I currently own two Chevy vehicles, and they will be the last Chevy cars I ever purchase. In my experience, Chevy does not honor warranties or recalls adequately and fails to properly address or replace faulty components. Their cars are constructed using subpar materials and are overly expensive.
