The 2011 GMC Acadia comes with special orange antifreeze that has OAT technology specifically made for American cars. To use it properly, mix it with water to achieve a 50/50 ratio if it's not already diluted. The Acadia's 3.6-liter 6-cylinder engine requires 11.4 US quarts of antifreeze. You can locate the coolant reservoir under the hood on the driver's side at the back of the firewall. Always check the levels when the engine has cooled down. Avoid opening the coolant cap when the engine is hot or has been recently running to prevent any splashing or burns from the hot coolant. You may notice that your antifreeze is running low if your engine temperature is higher than usual, if warning lights come on, or if you see leaks at the front of your vehicle. If your thermostat, water pump, or radiator hoses need to be repaired or replaced, it can affect your antifreeze levels.
