In a 2006 Toyota Tundra, the camshaft position sensor is positioned towards the front of the engine, on the lower side next to the driver's seat, mounted on the oil pump body behind the crank pulley. The camshaft position sensor may require replacing if you start noticing rough idling, stalling, decreased power, or sluggish acceleration in your vehicle. While your car won't immediately stop working due to an issue with the camshaft sensor, you may notice a deterioration in overall performance over time. A failing camshaft position sensor will gradually lose its ability to efficiently transmit data, potentially leading to fuel delivery and ignition timing mismatches that can result in sputtering, poor acceleration, reduced power, stalling, or even engine shutdown.
