In a 2011 Chevy Silverado, the Engine Control Module (ECM) is situated on the driver's side within the engine compartment near the fender. It is encased in a plastic box mounted on the fender and connected to numerous wires. The ECM is responsible for regulating various engine functions such as air intake, fuel consumption, and ignition timing by utilizing sensors placed throughout the engine. If your truck is experiencing performance issues, a recommended initial step is to employ an OBD II scan tool to examine the ECM for any diagnostic trouble codes.

In 2011, the BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) for Sierra and Silverado vehicles can be found under the steering column. The Engine Control Module (ECM) is typically located in the engine compartment on the driver's side inner fender. Before 2010, GM ECMs included the Transmission Control Module (TCM) within the ECM itself. However, from 2010 onwards, they started using a separate controller specifically for the transmission, which is situated on the inner fender of the passenger side. Nice attempt, Hazel, but you should stick to making sandwiches while I continue working on cars! Haha
