In a Ford Transit, you can locate the flasher relay near the base of the steering column. This component is responsible for operating your car's turn signals and emergency flashers, determining their frequency of flashing. If you observe your turn signals operating either faster or slower than usual, it's often an initial indicator of a malfunction in the flasher relay. By removing and replacing the relay with a new one, you can typically address the issue. However, if the problem persists, it might suggest a wiring short in the lights, or a defective switch on the dashboard or turn signal lever.

I had an issue with the turn signals and hazard lights on my 2012 MK7 transit van. I couldn't locate the relay anywhere until I opened up the right rear light assembly. Inside, I found a bunch of wires along with two relays: a standard black one and a red one. Both were soaked with water, and the red one was charred.

The flasher relay is located on the steering column. To access it, remove anything blocking your view from below. You'll easily spot it as it's colored blue.

Did it get resolved since I'm facing the same issue where the hazard lights are not working on my 2012 mk7 transit van swb?
