On the 2000 Ford F-150, the fuel filter is integrated with the fuel pump, typically located underneath the vehicle and connected to the fuel rail. Accessing it is relatively straightforward, as it is secured by just a few bolts that are easy to remove. The cost to replace the fuel pump usually ranges from $200 to $800. However, sometimes the filter and pump are built into the gas tank. In such cases, you'll need a new gas tank to replace the pump, but you can access the filter externally for replacement. The cost for this setup is roughly similar, possibly a bit more expensive, by a few hundred dollars. If the fuel pump starts to fail, you'll experience problems with acceleration due to insufficient gasoline, and in some instances, the vehicle might not start at all.
