The fuel filter's job is to remove any particles and dirt from the fuel to prevent clogging in the lines or injectors. If you notice low fuel pressure, it is wise to inspect the filter for any obstructions that may be hindering fuel flow to the engine. If you need to replace the fuel filter, you will have to replace the entire unit inside the gas tank.
