You can locate the brake light fuse for a 2004 Chevy Silverado under the hood. To access the fuse box, open the hood and find a black box along the right-hand side of the engine compartment. Open the box to reveal the fuse inside. The lid of the case should have a diagram indicating which fuse is for what, but if not, you can reference the car's owner's manual. Once you identify the needed fuse, remove it. Check if the thin metal strip connecting the two sections of the fuse is intact; if broken, the fuse needs to be replaced. A new fuse typically costs around 10 dollars, making it an affordable replacement.
