In the 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer, you can find the starter on the driver's side near the left bank cylinder under the engine compartment. Accessing the starter can be a bit tricky as you will need to remove the air filter assembly, motor, battery tray, and heater pipe with water hoses attached before taking out the starter. Make sure to disconnect the starting wires. Look for the nuts behind the plastic air vent just below the intake plenum to release the heater tubing. Depending on whether it's an original or aftermarket part, a replacement starter can cost anywhere from $65 to $120.
