The throttle position sensor on the 2003 Chevy Silverado is located on the right side of the throttle body. Its main job is to detect how much throttle you are applying in your truck and adjust the throttle body accordingly. If there's an issue with this sensor, you may experience a lag in throttle response and a decrease in power since it's not receiving the correct signals. When the sensor goes bad, the best solution is to replace it as it can't be easily fixed. Thankfully, the replacement usually doesn't cost more than $100.

In a 2003 Chevy Silverado, a throttle position sensor, or TPS, keeps track of how much air the engine is taking in. It's installed on the butterfly spindle/shaft to adjust the throttle position accurately.
