The 2014 Chevy Cruze offers two ways to open the trunk. One option is using the trunk release button on your key fob, which is convenient when you're inside the car as there are no interior trunk release buttons. Another way is by pressing the button located on the underside of the lip where the license plate is, which releases the latch and allows the trunk to be opened when the vehicle is unlocked.
Is it necessary for the car to be turned on in order for the trunk release button at the back of the car to function?

To the left on the floor of the vehicle.
My apologies, the trunk cannot be opened. Any ideas on how to unlock it?
You can find the trunk release button for the 2014 Chevy Cruze at the back of the car, right above the license plate.
How do you ensure it stays secure? Even when my car is completely locked, someone can still access the trunk. What can I do to correct this issue?
