The camshaft position sensor for the 2009 Kia Borrego is positioned towards the rear of the engine, just above the junction where the starter motor connects to the engine. This sensor detects the camshaft's rotational position, relaying this data to the vehicle's ECU to time the injection of air, fuel, and spark for proper combustion in the cylinders. If this sensor begins to malfunction, you may experience rough engine performance and possibly trigger the check engine light.
