The 2014 Ford Fusion 1.5L coolant temperature sensor can be found in the coolant pipe, positioned below the air intake pipe and situated behind the right cylinder head. If you encounter issues with the engine, various problems may arise. These can include excessive oil consumption, necessitating earlier than anticipated oil changes. An especially severe issue is engine overheating, which can potentially result in fires and even the car exploding. Loose gaskets should be promptly secured, and a loose spark plug could lead to engine malfunctions. Address oil leaks promptly to prevent further complications. It is recommended to replace the coolant every 60,000 miles, while the spark plugs should be changed every 100,000 miles except for copper ones, which require replacement every 30,000 miles. Additionally, the air filter should be replaced every 15,000 to 30,000 miles.

The 1.5L engine is a four-cylinder inline engine that has a single head instead of left and right heads. The sensor is positioned behind the air intake hose in the coolant fitting located at the back of the head, slightly to the right of the center. To replace it, you can easily remove the air intake hose as it is secured in place with a locking clip and is not threaded.
