The crank sensor in the Ford Transit 2.2 can be found below the exhaust gas cooler and attached to the bellhousing beneath the tin heatshield. It is located at the front of the cylinder head on the right-hand side, above the inlet manifold. Before replacing it, check for any codes in the ECU, if the check engine light is on. Accessing the sensor can be complicated without removing other engine parts. You may consider purchasing a used sensor from eBay for around $20.
