The crankshaft position sensor on a 2012 Chevy Impala will be found under the hood, towards the back of the engine near the firewall, specifically on the lower left side. A new sensor will range in price from $20 to $50, with the higher end being for an OEM sensor. If you prefer to have a professional replace the sensor, expect to pay between $150 and $300 for parts and labor combined.
The sensor that keeps track of the crankshaft's position is situated within the crankshaft itself, close to the engine.
