The Ford Transit 250's fuel tank is situated towards the rear right side of the vehicle, close to the fuel door. If you glance under the car, you'll spot a rectangular metallic container that is positioned up against the frame, with a rail extending from it towards the front of the vehicle. This container is the fuel tank, secured to the car with a set of bolts and clamps. Removing the tank is a manageable task, albeit requiring you to either get beneath the car or elevate it with a jack. The cost of replacing the tank or upgrading to a larger one is estimated at around $400 for the tank itself, in addition to a few hundred dollars for the labor.
