The oil pressure sensor in a 2001 Chevy Cavalier can be found underneath the vehicle's hood. To access it, first, pull the hood release lever located inside the vehicle on the driver's side. Step outside the vehicle and lift the hood, releasing the safety latch. Look towards the rear of the engine on the right side, between the engine and the firewall, to locate the oil pressure sensor. Make sure to unplug the old sensor before installing a new one. A new sensor typically costs between $30 and $50.
