The temperature sensor for the Toyota RAV4 is placed inside the bumper on the driver's side near the fog light. If your RAV4 doesn't have fog lights, you should look in the general area where they are usually located. A replacement sensor can typically be found for around $50. Thankfully, replacing it yourself is not too challenging or labor-intensive. To do so, you will need to get part number R8879006020 and then the process is as simple as removing the old sensor and installing the new one in its place once you locate where the ambient air temperature sensor is on your RAV4.
