The 2011 Chevy Malibu has two oxygen sensors that keep an eye on the exhaust fumes. The first sensor (Bank 1) can be found below the exhaust manifold towards the rear of the engine, right where the manifold meets the start of the exhaust pipe. The second sensor (Bank 2) is positioned immediately after the catalytic converter. Following the exhaust pipe towards the front of the car, you'll spot it after the pipe bends upwards towards the engine. The Bank 1 sensor faces the firewall, while the Bank 2 sensor faces the passenger side of the vehicle. To take them out, you'll want to have a 22mm wrench or a deep well socket handy.
The 2011 Chevy Malibu is equipped with one oxygen sensor located on the right side of the engine, and two additional sensors on either side of the catalytic converter.
