In your 2015 Ford Escape, the cord for the block heater can be located on the right side of the battery close to the fuse box. You will find a plastic cover over the wire, and once you remove it, you'll see a standard three-prong plug. Connect an extension cord to that plug, and then you'll be able to use the block heater. Having a block heater is beneficial, especially in extremely cold areas, as it helps prevent freezing of your engine fluids. When fluids freeze, they can cause the aluminum block to crack, leading to the need for motor replacement. Additionally, a block heater can make it easier to start your vehicle in cold weather since the engine will be warmer.
