The body control module (BCM) in the 2005 Cadillac STS is located on the driver's side within the vehicle. Made of black plastic, the BCM is attached to the fuse block and is responsible for managing functions such as power windows, power mirrors, air conditioning, immobilizer system, and central locking. When the BCM malfunctions, it can trigger error and warning lights on the dashboard, which may flicker if the sensors are not being read correctly. Additionally, a faulty BCM can impact the performance of the vehicle as it interacts with other control modules. This can lead to issues like difficulty starting the engine. It is crucial to pay attention to these warning signs, act promptly, and seek assistance for any BCM-related problems.

Once you have a clear view, you'll notice a wiring harness leading to it, making it easier to identify. Look for four electric connectors and two screws to ensure you have found the right spot.
