My Ford Taurus also doesn't have one. I recently bought an oil and oil filter for it, only to find out that it doesn't have the specific part I needed.

Lindsay is right. In 2008 (and I think also in 2009), there is no cabin filter included. A few individuals have customized their 2008 models by making a cut in the housing where the filter would usually be placed, and installing a cabin filter meant for a 2010 Taurus instead. To secure it, they either cover the opening with HVAC tape or purchase a cover designed for the 2010 model and fit it in place (although it is uncertain if the 2008 housing has the appropriate notches for the cover).

I believe they replace my cabin air filter whenever I get an oil change. Could it be that they're charging me for it but not actually putting it in?
