In the 2014 Chevy Malibu, the coolant temperature sensor is located on the back of the engine head. A number of engine issues can arise, such as a spark plug becoming dislodged, a loose gasket needing tightening, or oil leaks that require prompt repair. Engine overheating is a major concern as it can lead to fires and even explosions. Excessive oil consumption may necessitate more frequent oil changes. Coolant should be replaced roughly every 60,000 miles, while the air filter should be changed every 15,000 to 30,000 miles. For most spark plugs, replacement is recommended every 100,000 miles, except for copper spark plugs which should be changed every 30,000 miles.

I heard that there are two coolant sensors – one located under the hood and the other underneath the front bumper. Can you confirm if that's accurate?
