The fuel pressure regulator for the 2005 Ford F-150 is located at the end of the fuel line and connects to the car's injectors. Its responsibility is to ensure that the engine receives an adequate amount of fuel for proper operation. If there are issues with the regulator, you may experience various symptoms. The most common and relatively minor one is engine misfiring, which can have multiple causes and should be examined by a professional. Additionally, a fuel leak may be evident if the line is damaged. Excessive fuel being dispensed can result in black smoke emitting from the engine as the extra fuel burns off, posing a serious hazard.

I think the fuel pressure sensor and regulator come as a single unit in this truck. It's located on the driver's side of the fuel rail, right in front of the input fuel line. There's a 3-wire connector and a vacuum line connected to it. To remove it, loosen the 2 bolts with a 7mm wrench, then carefully twist and pull upward with some force. Don't forget to lubricate the O-ring on the new one before installing it. Apologies for any typos, my phone seems to have a mind of its own.
