In a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, the oil pressure sensor is positioned at the upper rear section of the engine. If the sensor indicates low pressure, it is necessary to proceed with an oil change. To start the process, ensure the vehicle has been turned off and parked for a couple of hours to allow the engine to cool down. Locate the oil pan in the engine compartment, find the drain plug underneath, and place a bucket beneath it before removing it to let the oil drain into the pan. Wait for the dripping to stop, which can take around an hour. Replace the drain plug once the oil has fully drained, then locate the intake port on the top of the oil pan. Use a funnel to refill the oil pan to the full mark, taking care not to overfill. It is acceptable to slightly underfill, but overfilling can result in leaks and oil consumption. Once the oil pan is full, close the port, clean up any spills, and the oil change is complete.
