The speed sensor in the 2009 Dodge Journey can be found on the transmission output shaft. This sensor communicates with the computer to track how many times the shaft rotates, determining the car's speed. Its crucial function enables the transmission to smoothly transition between gears. If the sensor malfunctions, the transmission may delay shifting, shift roughly, or fail to shift altogether. Replacing a faulty speed sensor is an affordable $20 to $40 repair that should not be neglected, as improper functioning can damage the transmission.

Can you please tell me the location of the speed sensor?

I own a 2009 Dodge Journey with V-6 engine and All-Wheel Drive featuring a 3.6 engine. The engine and traction control lights are always illuminated. When I stop at a stop light and then try to accelerate up a hill, it takes a while to reach the speed limit even when I push the gas pedal all the way down. Also, when the car is parked and I shift into drive, there is a noticeable bump.
