The 2002 Ford Explorer comes in four trim levels with two engine options. There are two types of tires available: the Limited and Eddie Bauer editions feature P245/70R16 tires, while the XLS and XLT come with P235/70R16 tires. The recommended tire inflation is 32 pounds per square inch, with a maximum of 36 PSI. It is acceptable to increase the inflation to 32 PSI when carrying a heavy load, but going beyond the maximum of 36 PSI could lead to a blowout. The wheels for these tires are 16 inches in diameter by 7 inches in width, measured at 7Jx16 ET44. The bolt pattern is 5x114.3, and the center bore is 70.6mm. Each wheel has five lug nuts with threads measuring 1/2" - 20 UNF.
