The 2003 Nissan Altima requires 4.4 quarts of oil and takes 5w30 synthetic oil. When changing the oil in the car, ensure that it has been turned off and parked for a few hours to let the engine cool down. Locate the oil pan and drain plug underneath the engine compartment. Place a bucket underneath before removing the plug to allow the oil to drain completely. Replace the plug and then find the oil intake port on top of the oil pan. Fill the oil pan using a funnel, being careful not to overfill to prevent leaks or oil burn off. Once filled, close the port, clean up any spilled oil, and your oil change is complete.
The 2003 Nissan Altima comes with two engine options: a 2.5-liter inline-4 and a 3.5-liter V6. Both engines need 4.4 quarts of 5W30 synthetic oil.
