Beginning with the 2011 model year, the Chevy Equinox now needs a TPMS relearn tool in order to reset the system. To start, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position without starting the engine. Locate the menu button on the center dash controls below the display and press it. This action should bring up VEHICLE INFORMATION on the display screen. Scroll through the options until you find TIRE PRESSURE, then press and hold the SET/CLR button until you hear the horn beep twice. Starting with the front left tire, position the relearn tool by the valve stem of the tire, making sure it is snug against the sidewall. Activate the sensor by pushing the button. Repeat this process with the right front tire, followed by the rear front tire, and finally, the rear left tire, moving in a clockwise direction around the vehicle. After completing the process, turn off the ignition and start the engine to ensure that the reset has been successfully completed and saved.

Here's how to do a factory reset on the TPMS for a 2011 Chevy Equinox. Turn the ignition key to the "on" position (not start) without starting the engine. Hold down the reset button on the instrument panel until the TPMS light blinks and then turns off.
