In 2012, the Mitsubishi Outlander came with a standard 2.4L 4-cylinder engine, but you could also choose to upgrade to a larger 3.0L V6 engine. The 2.4L models have an oil capacity of 4.5 US quarts and use 5W-20 synthetic blend oil. For the V6 engine, you'll have the same capacity but will need to use 0W-20 motor oil. Due to the small oil capacity of these vehicles, you can expect to spend approximately $30 on fluids to fully fill up the engine. If you opt to go to an oil change shop, it will cost you between $90 and $130.

For the 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander, it is recommended to use either genuine Mitsubishi motors engine oil or 0W-20 engine oil for the ES and SE models. The GT model of the 2012 Outlander should use 5W-20 engine oil. The engine oil capacity for the ES and SE models is 4.5 US quarts (4.3 liters), while the GT model has an oil capacity of 4.2 US quarts (4.0 liters).
