To reset the oil life on a 2014 Kia Forte, first start the engine. If it's time for a service, you'll see a "Service Required" message. To clear this, hold down the SELECT/RESET button (left-pointing arrow) on the lower right side of the steering wheel for over a second. This will reset the service interval to the default. Make sure your service interval feature is activated by going to the SERVICE menu. To access this, press the MODE button (rectangle icons) on the lower right side of the steering wheel. Once in the SERVICE menu, navigate to SERVICE INTERVAL and follow the steps to activate and set the interval. After doing this, turn off the ignition and start the engine again to confirm that the indicator has been reset.
To reset the oil maintenance reminder on a 2014 Kia Forte, start the car without turning on the engine, press the menu button until you reach the service reminder option, then press and hold the OK button until the mileage counter resets.
