To access the hood of your BMW 530I, first, make sure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and engage the parking brake. Locate the hood release handle under the left side of the dashboard and pull it to slightly pop the hood open. Then, move the hood latch lever situated under the front hood edge towards the center and lift the hood fully. Secure the hood in place by inserting the support rod into the designated slot. When closing the hood, remove the support rod from the slot, place it back in its clamp, and gently lower the hood until it is about 12 inches (30 cm) from closing. Finally, remove your hands and let the hood close securely.
