To replace the cabin air filter in a 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500, you'll find it behind the glove box. Use a phillips head screwdriver to open the glove box, then remove the screws on both sides to pop out the outer section. Inside, you'll see a black box containing the cabin filter. It should be replaced every 30,000 miles, with a new one costing between $10 and $30.

There is no cabin air filter available for a "2011" Silverado. I own a 2011 LTZ model, and it does not come equipped with a cabin filter.

I just purchased a 2011 Silverado LT, but I'm disappointed to find out that there is no cabin filter in it.

Does a 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS have a cabin air filter? If it does, WHERE can I locate it? I've been looking behind the glove box but can't find it.

In 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 trucks, there is not a built-in cabin filter unless a previous owner modified the filter area to add one. General Motors discontinued including cabin air filters in Silverado models back in 2003.

The cabin air filter in a Chevy Silverado 1500 is located behind the lower part of the glove box. To access it, you'll need a screwdriver to remove the housing.

In 2011, there is no filter, but Fram offers a retrofit option that you can add. Installing it may be a bit of a project, but it's possible if you want to go ahead with it.

Is it also true that a 2010 Z71 Silverado doesn't have a cabin filter? They seem to be widely available for sale everywhere!

I checked behind the glove compartment of my 2011 1500 Silverado LT but couldn't locate a cabin air filter. After ordering one from a nearby auto parts shop, they informed me that it had arrived but I struggled to find the old filter. This is quite frustrating. I wonder why GM would design it this way.

I checked my 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 and consulted my mechanic, who confirmed that there is no cabin filter in my vehicle.

I noticed some ads for a new type of air cabin filter, but unfortunately, there seems to be no filter available.

You're both correct and mistaken. From 2007 to 2013, Silverados are equipped with cabin filters, but this varies depending on the model trim such as LS, LT, LTZ, and work truck. Specifically, LS and work truck models do not come with cabin air filters, whereas LT and LTZ models might have one if they were equipped with an upgraded climate control system. The reason filters are sold for Silverados is because certain trims are designed to have them.

My 2011 LTZ comes with a cabin air filter. It's located exactly where they indicate. Changing it is a real pain, but I've successfully swapped it three times!

Trust the engineers to mess things up by removing the filter that should have been there... now there's no filter. I thought I had a good understanding of what to do after watching several videos, but it turned out to be a total waste of time. All I got from this is a cabin filter with an aftermarket holder. I wouldn't have bothered if I had known this would happen.

Right now, I'm dismantling my 2011 1500 model. There's no cabin air filter in it, and I have the LS version. I think it varies depending on the body style. Wishing you all good luck!

I spoke with a Chevrolet dealership, and they informed me that some 2011 Silverados come equipped with the feature while others do not. I think it varies depending on the body style.
