In 2014, the Chevy Traverse was equipped with a 3.6L V6 engine as standard on all models. This engine requires 6 US quarts of motor oil, including the filter. Use synthetic 5W-30 oil for best results. The oil drain plug has a 15mm head size and should be torqued to 20 lbs/ft if using a power tool. Alternatively, you can also use a socket wrench to perform this task.

What does the dexos1 specification refer to? We need to determine whether it requires conventional or synthetic oil.

The manual for my car specifies 5W-30 DEXOS1 Synthetic Blend, it's not fully synthetic.

I discovered the dexos1 requirement for the Traverse. It specifies that the motor oil must be GM OE DEXOS1 FULL SYNTHETIC, meaning that the Traverse requires full synthetic oil.

My book also suggests using a synthetic blend.

GMC advises using engine oil that meets the dexos1 standard and has an SAE viscosity grade of 5W-30. For the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse, the engine oil capacity is 6 quarts (equal to 5.7 liters).
