The recommended motor oil for the Hyundai Tucson is sae 5w-20. To change the oil in the car, first ensure that the vehicle has been turned off and parked for a couple of hours to allow the engine to cool down. This will prevent any risk of burning yourself with hot oil. Locate the oil pan in the engine bay and find the drain plug underneath. Place a container under the plug and remove it to drain the oil into the pan. Let the oil drain completely, which may take about an hour. Once it has finished draining, replace the drain plug and then locate the oil fill port on top of the oil pan. Use a funnel to fill the oil pan to the recommended level, avoiding overfilling to prevent leaks and oil burn off. Close the fill port securely, clean up any spilled oil, and you're done with the oil change.
