From 2003 to 2017, all Honda Pilot models used a timing belt which Honda recommends replacing every 60,000 to 100,000 miles depending on the vehicle's age and usage to prevent regular wear and tear and ensure your safety while driving. Although it may be costly to replace the timing belt every hundred thousand miles, it is a more affordable option compared to replacing a timing chain, which can last for around 250,000 miles. However, in the event of a major issue (which can happen -- I've had to replace more than one), you could face a bill of $3,000 or more. So, even though it may seem like a financial burden, it might actually save you money in the long run.
