The 2017 Chevy Malibu is equipped with two aux ports, one on the main dash of the console and another inside the center console between the passenger and driver sides. If you're having issues with the aux ports, first check to ensure there is nothing blocking them and then inspect the fuse. To access the fuse box, locate a small seam or crack to the left of the steering wheel on the dash. Use a screwdriver or prybar to open it up. Inside, you'll find a series of fuses. On the back of the panel you opened, there should be a diagram indicating the purpose of each fuse. If not, refer to the owner's manual. Identify the faulty fuse by checking for a broken thin strip of metal connecting the two raised sections. If the strip is intact, simply reinsert the fuse. Replacement fuses are inexpensive, costing around $10.
The aux port serves multiple functions and often goes unnoticed by consumers until they specifically need it. All versions of the Malibu, except the base model, come equipped with an aux port. This difference is unsurprising, considering that higher trim levels typically offer more advanced technology features. However, the base trim also has its own set of features and connectivity choices such as a CD player and RCA outputs.
