Regrettably, the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan's base model (S) and the next level (SE) do not include remote start technology. However, this feature is integrated in the higher-end SEL and SEL Premium versions. Some drivers mentioned that certain dealerships provided remote start as an add-on for lower trims for $150, but there is no official confirmation from Volkswagen on this. For those with a higher trim level that has remote start capabilities, you can easily activate it using your key fob. Simply double-press the "lock" button to ensure all doors are securely closed, then press the circular remote start button twice, holding it down on the second press. If your Tiguan has this feature, it should start up smoothly.
