The 2011 Ford Fusion offers three engine choices: a 2.5 L 4-cylinder, a 3.0 L V6, and a 3.5 L V6. All three engine configurations are equipped with a timing chain, which is designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle, around 250,000 miles. In contrast, timing belts typically need to be replaced every 50,000 to 100,000 miles due to regular wear and tear. However, if you ever need to replace the timing chain, the repair could cost over $2,500 mainly due to the labor involved. On the upside, if the chain doesn't experience issues like stretching or damage, you won't need to replace it simply because of wear and tear.
