The 2017 Hyundai Accent comes with a timing chain instead of a timing belt. Since 2013, all Hyundai engines, including the Accent, have been using timing chains. One of the main benefits of using a timing chain in cars today is that they require less maintenance compared to timing belts. Timing belts typically need to be replaced every 60,000 to 100,000 miles, whereas timing chains usually do not need to be replaced unless there is a major issue. Timing chains are often not replaced because they are located inside the engine and receive lubrication from engine oil, unlike timing belts which are exposed outside the engine and are subject to wear and tear.
