The 2001 Chevy Tahoe originally came with a 4.8L V8 Vortec engine, but there was an option to upgrade to a 5.3L V8 Vortec engine. Both engines require synthetic blend 5W-30 motor oil and hold 6 US quarts with the filter. To prevent damage, it's essential to change the oil every 7,500 miles. The oil drain plug has a 15mm head size and should be removed using 25 ft-lbs of torque.
