There hasn't been a recall concerning lug-nuts on the Ford Escape. However, some vehicle owners filed lawsuits claiming that the lug-nuts expanded and got stuck. These owners reported to dealers that the wrenches in the tool kits didn't fit the swollen lug nuts, making it impossible for them to fix the issue. Despite this, a judge in Detroit threw out the complaint, stating that the plaintiffs hadn't provided enough evidence for a remedy. Ford has not taken any steps to address this issue.

I own a 2018 Ford Escape. Is there a recall for the lug nuts on my car?

Today, I encountered the same problem while having my 2016 Escape serviced. The service advisor informed me that the lug nuts had expanded and needed to be replaced for a tire rotation or flat tire change. The repair cost will be over $100. This issue is not uncommon. I intend to reach out to the Ford district manager in my area to voice my worries. I hope that someone at Ford will help resolve this matter without me having to cover the replacement cost.

There hasn't been any lug-nut recall for the Ford Escape. Numerous consumers have raised concerns about the lug-nuts in use on the Ford Escape, particularly when they swell up and get stuck. Ford took legal action regarding these problems, but the lawsuit did not succeed.

Yesterday, I brought my 2017 Ford Escape to get a flat tire repaired, but they couldn't remove the lug nuts because they were swollen. My husband is at the Ford dealership today, and apparently, this is a recognized issue. So why hasn't there been a recall if they already know about the problem?

I just experienced the same issue today - my 2014 Ford Escape needed a new tire, and I was informed that the lug nuts were swollen and would have to be replaced in case of a roadside emergency. I was advised that there may be a recall for the lug nuts.

This is a totally unacceptable issue that Ford needs to address! It's ridiculous that I have to get all the lug nuts on our 2018 Ford Escape replaced. When I inquired if Ford would cover the cost, they said no. It's going to cost me more than $100.00 to replace them, and after reading the comments above, I'm not going to let Ford do it. I don't see the point in replacing with lug nuts that will likely have the same problem again.

I just brought my 2014 Escape to the dealership for the same problem. They quoted $169 to replace the lug nuts. After researching online, I discovered it was a common issue. Instead of having the dealership do the work with the same type of lug nuts, I decided to purchase a new set, including one locking nut, from an auto parts store. With the help of my boyfriend, we swapped them out and he showed me how to tighten them properly using a torque wrench. The cost for the new lug nuts set was under $50. Thankfully, my boyfriend already had the torque wrench needed for the job.

I encountered this problem today with my 2017 Ford Escape. It's disappointing that Ford has yet to find a solution.

I encountered the same issue when trying to remove the wheel. I thought about buying a new set from Ford for $8 each until I realized they were identical to the ones I already have. It's surprising that they are still offering these for sale.

Just got all the lug nuts changed on our 2016 Ford Escape today during a tire rotation and balance! They mentioned that the nuts were swollen and had to be replaced, which we had to pay for ourselves.

Today, I attempted to replace the brake pads on my 2017 Ford Escape, but I encountered difficulty with one stubborn lug nut that wouldn't budge. Ultimately, I had to seek professional help to remove the lug nut. In the process, I decided to invest in a higher-quality set of lug nuts, which cost me $125.

I recently had my brakes changed and tires rotated. However, I had to have all my lug nuts replaced as they got stripped during removal. Strangely enough, these were the same lug nuts that were installed by a Ford dealer when I had a flat tire fixed a few years ago, and they also got stripped. My advice is not to get new lug nuts at the Ford dealership, as they only use Ford parts and Ford Escape lug nuts, which are prone to causing issues. It could end up being a costly endeavor.

I'm feeling disappointed in Ford. I took my 2016 Escape in for service today, and was informed that my lug nuts had swollen and required replacement in order to change the tires. It turns out this issue is widespread among Ford Escapes, and it seems like there should have been a recall to address it.

Even more incentive to avoid purchasing a Ford once more - this marks the second time I've had to shell out money to repair their inferior quality!
