In 2017, there was an issue with the manufacturing of the Honda CR-V concerning the shift knob buttons. Some 2017-18 CR-Vs experienced problems with these buttons due to a change in materials used by the supplier. This change made the shift knob buttons prone to breaking and malfunctioning, especially in hot and humid conditions. Many drivers faced difficulties with shifting gears as a result. In 2019, Honda initiated a recall for the affected models to address this issue.
